Associates in Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine Joins Ochsner Health

BATON ROUGE – Ochsner Health continues to strengthen its network for pediatrics in Greater Baton Rouge thanks to a new agreement with Associates in Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine. Joining the Ochsner Baton Rouge team are pediatricians Rodger H. Elofson, II, M.D., Dana A. Fakouri, M.D., Brannon C. Perilloux, M.D., and Lori M. Cook, M.D.

Located at 8040 Goodwood Blvd., in Baton Rouge, Associates in Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine has been committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults for decades. The group also sees patients in their Zachary office on Wednesday mornings.

“We are so excited to welcome Associates in Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine to the Ochsner team,” stated Eric McMillen, CEO, Ochsner Baton Rouge. “They have been very successful in creating an excellent practice in the Baton Rouge region.”

An upcoming benefit for both patients and physicians will be the implementation of Ochsner’s electronic health record platform, Epic, a nationally recognized electronic health record system. Associates in Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine patients will be able to use the patient portal, MyOchsner, to easily schedule appointments, communicate with their doctors, request prescription refills and view visit summaries, lab and imaging results from their laptop, tablet or smart phone.

The transition to Epic will occur before the end of the year. This update will also enhance the care coordination between delivering obstetricians and this pediatric practice for mothers and their babies.

“We see numerous benefits to partnering with Ochsner,” said Dr. Perilloux. “Their emphasis on primary care and pediatrics, the physicians both OB/Gyns and pediatricians, and the infrastructure that they have built to enhance the care of newborns, infants and children in the Baton Rouge area is quite impressive. At the end of the day, aligning with Ochsner was the best decision for our practice, our new and existing patients and their families.”

The physicians at Associates in Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine have a strong track record of quality, safety, personal attention, and patient satisfaction. They add more than 95 years of experience, knowledge, and reputation to the Ochsner group practice as they continue to serve a key area in Mid City.

With the upcoming completion of the pediatrics expansion at Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove, children with have enhanced access to over 30 medical specialists and therapists all working together to meet the needs of the child and their family. Medical records will be available seamlessly between pediatric specialists and the pediatricians at Associates in Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.

Drs. Elofson, Fakouri, Perilloux, and Cook will retain privileges at all local hospitals to care for children across the region. Their office staff and location will not change.
