New Pediatric Subspecialty Clinic Opens At TGMC As Part of Ochsner Health Network Partnership

HOUMATerrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) and Ochsner Health System hosted a ribbon cutting and open house on Tuesday March 7, 2017, to celebrate the opening of a new pediatric subspecialty clinic, a joint venture between TGMC and Ochsner Hospital for Children.

TGMC joined the Ochsner Health Network (OHN) in 2015. As a founding member, TGMC’s affiliation with OHN continues to grow by increasing access to high quality care for the people of the Bayou Region. That includes pediatric subspecialties, which will further strengthen that partnership.

Phyllis Peoples, President and CEO, Terrebonne General Medical Center noted, “By adding specialized services addressing the needs of pediatric patients at TGMC, we are making our services more accessible and improving the patient and parent experience.”

The new pediatric dedicated clinic will offer pediatric specialties including cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, pulmonology, endocrinology and general surgery. Additional pediatric specialties including neurology and hematology/oncology will be added later this year.

Patients and their parents will be able to self-refer to the clinic, and local pediatricians will have the benefit of referring their patients to subspecialty care in their service district.

“This clinic expands the range of pediatric subspecialty services currently offered at TGMC,” said Dr. William Lennarz, System Chair of Pediatrics and the Associate Medical Director (AMD) of Pediatrics at Ochsner Hospital for Children. “It brings the expertise of Ochsner Hospital for Children closer to home for children and parents in the greater Bayou Region.”

The new Ochsner Health Center for Children Pediatric Subspecialties – Houma is located in the TGMC Medical Atrium, 8120 Main St., Suite 303 Houma, LA 70360. To book an appointment, call 985-805-5116.
