Next Milestone Reached in Process for Lafayette General Health to Merge with Ochsner Health

The Boards of Trustees of Lafayette General Health (LGH) and Ochsner Health (Ochsner) have approved a Shared Mission Agreement (or definitive agreement) for LGH to merge with Ochsner and will sign the agreement today. Signing this definitive agreement is the next step in the process to form the most comprehensive healthcare provider in the Gulf South, focused on expanding access to high-quality care and improving the long-term health and wellness of communities across the region.

Given the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic presents to healthcare, forging smart partnerships to strengthen healthcare in Louisiana and to take a united approach to serving our region has never been more critical.

The health systems will continue to work towards forming the combined organization and seeking all necessary regulatory and other approvals. For ongoing updates and more details, please visit: www.LeadingTogetherLA.org.
