OB/GYN Specialists Open at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport–St. Mary Medical Center

SHREVEPORT, La. – Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport continues to invest in its St. Mary Medical Center by opening an OB/GYN Specialists clinic. The new clinic, located at One St. Mary Place in Shreveport, La., is nearly 20,000 square feet and has 26 exam rooms, two treatment rooms and two ultrasound rooms.

The OB/GYN Specialists, consists of six physicians and three nurse practitioners. The new providers, Dr. Beth Geneux, Dr. John Haynes, Dr. Kristi Michael, Dr. Darrell Sandifer, Dr. Stephanie Sockrider, Dr. Kristy Waltman, Aimee Smiley, NP, LaToya Gipson, NP and Holly Johnson, NP, will begin seeing patients on November 3.

The group is an addition to its existing OB/GYN team. Ochsner LSU Health also has 10 OB/GYN physicians and two nurse practitioners whose clinic practice is located at 1602 Kings Highway and women’s and children’s inpatient services are at its St. Mary Medical Center.

The new clinic, along with a 6,000 square foot café and common area currently undergoing renovation, represents an additional $6 million investment at its St. Mary Medical Center and is coupled with landscaping improvements and signage additions for the entire campus.

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport - St. Mary Medical Center also includes a 122-bed hospital and several targeted care centers, including a comprehensive diagnostic and imaging center, ambulatory surgery center, and neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics and sports medicine, sleep, gastroenterology, and outpatient child psychiatry clinics.

Since its inception on October 1, 2018, Ochsner LSU Health has heavily focused on increasing access to healthcare adding 180 new physicians to its system, expanding to several new locations including its St. Mary Medical Center, completing a major electronic health record upgrade, implementing several leading telemedicine programs, beginning virtual visits, and undergoing major renovations at its Academic Medical Center on Kings Highway in Shreveport.
