NEW ORLEANS, La. – To meet the healthcare needs of the Arabi, La., community affected by the March 22 tornadoes, Ochsner Health
and St. Bernard Parish Hospital are providing first aid and technology resources to local residents, first responders and volunteers. Both an Ochsner Mobile Unit and Ochsner OBar Bus will be stationed at Patricia Park, 1809 Karl Drive in Arabi, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. beginning Friday, March 25.
The Ochsner Mobile Unit will be staffed with St. Bernard Parish Hospital nurses who can check vital signs and provide first aid for minor cuts, scrapes, sprains, etc. If a patient requires a more advanced level of care, they will be referred to St. Bernard Parish Hospital’s Emergency Department.
The Ochsner OBar Bus will also be onsite, equipped with charging stations for mobile devices. Both vehicles will have Ochsner Anywhere Care connectivity, where residents can conduct a virtual visit with a physician or advanced care provider. Free urgent care virtual visits are now available for those residents who have been impacted by the recent tornadoes with the code SBStrong. To get started, download the Ochsner Anywhere Care mobile app on iOS or Android or visit ochsner.org/anywhere. These mobile unit services will be offered to the Arabi community at Patricia Park so long as there is a need for them.
