Ochsner Health Facilities Recognized with an ‘A’ by Leapfrog in Fall 2021 Patient Safety Grades
NEW ORLEANS – Nine Ochsner Health facilities, including four partner facilities, earned an ‘A’ Fall 2021 Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a designation that recognizes efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the United States. Ochsner hospitals and partner facilities earning this honor include:
- Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center (Ochsner Partner)
- Ochsner Baptist, A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center
- Ochsner Medical Center - Hancock
- Ochsner Medical Center - North Shore
- Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank
- Ochsner St. Mary
- St. Bernard Parish Hospital (Ochsner Partner)
- St. Charles Parish Hospital (Ochsner Partner)
- St. Tammy Parish Hospital (Ochsner Partner)
The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
