Ochsner Health Statement on Confirmed COVID-19 Patients
8:30 p.m. CST
“Today the Louisiana Office of Public Health (OPH) has confirmed two patients with COVID-19 at Ochsner Health -- one at Ochsner St. Anne and one at Ochsner West Bank.
At each hospital we implemented our comprehensive COVID-19 Response Plan, which includes:
- Initiating our systemwide protocol for the screening and isolation of any patient suspected of having the Coronavirus.
- Once we suspected that this case had the potential to be COVID-19, we followed the appropriate isolation and protective measures outlined by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as their guidelines for hospital personnel and visitors.
- We then notified OPH who provided guidance and administered the test.
We delivered care to these patients in a way that protects the health of our patients and caregivers. The health and well-being of our patients and staff remains our top priority. We want to thank our care teams for their preparation while acting immediately and appropriately.
We would also like to reassure patients that both Ochsner St. Anne and Ochsner West Bank remain open. If you have questions about scheduled appointments or procedures, please contact your provider.
In compliance with federal patient privacy regulations and out of respect for patients and their families, we are unable to make any further comments regarding the patients’ condition.”
