NEW ORLEANS, La. – Two River Region facilities, Ochsner Vision Center – Destrehan and Ochsner Performance Training – St. Charles, held ribbon cutting ceremonies on Thursday, May 5, marking the opening of these locations.

Ochsner Vision Center – Destrehan, located at 13100 River Road, Suite 220, is equipped with an autorefractor allowing for a quick reading for prescription glasses before a complete exam, a pachymeter to measure the thickness of a patient’s cornea, a vision center for eyeglasses and contact lenses, and three exam rooms with the ability to treat most vision needs. Patients can make appointments to see Ochsner optometry and ophthalmology providers Monday – Friday. Ochsner Vision Center – Destrehan already has expansion plans in mind, with enhanced vision services and capabilities planned for the future, such as retinal topography to diagnosis retinal issues and fundus photo equipment to photograph the back of the eye to view the retina, optic nerve head and the macula.

Ochsner Performance Training – St. Charles (OPT) is now one of five locations throughout the state, including Elmwood, Covington, Slidell and Baton Rouge. Located at 105 Plantation Road, OPT– St. Charles offers a strength and conditioning program for individuals from as young as 7 years old to adults. OPT offers workout classes, individual training, small group personal training, and team training in hopes of developing healthy lifestyles and stronger athletes.

The OPT facility features a weight room with professional equipment and turf with top-of-the-line speed and agility equipment such as a curve treadmill, sleds, and hurdles. The OPT program has trained numerous notable professional athletes as well as collegiate and high school teams.

“It is an exciting time for Ochsner Health and our community with the opening of these two new facilities. Each facility helps to ensure a quality care experience for patients, doctors, nurses, trainers, and staff with a new environment encompassing the latest equipment and technology.
