LULING – St. Charles Parish Hospital has named Austin Reeder as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective February 8, 2017. Reeder most recently served as Vice President of Service Lines and Operations at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, La.

“The St. Charles Parish Hospital Board is excited to begin working with Austin Reeder as the new CEO,” said Ricky Bosco, Chairman, St. Charles Parish Board of Commissioners. “His experience in managing hospital operations, supply chain and support services, as well as oversight of strategic planning, financial performance and service lines, make him well equipped to lead St. Charles Parish Hospital as it grows to meet the needs of our community. On behalf of the Board and myself, we look forward to working with Austin in meeting the healthcare needs of St. Charles Parish.”

Reeder holds a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Auburn University as well as a Master of Public Health, Epidemiology and a Master of Health Administration, both from Tulane University. Additionally, he is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

St. Charles Parish Hospital is a 59-bed facility which was created as a service district hospital in 1959. In 2014, a partnership with Ochsner Health System established the sharing of best medical practices and the implementation of advanced technology, resulting in improved quality, expanded access to care and reduction in medical costs.

Since the beginning of the partnership, access to high quality healthcare has greatly expanded in St. Charles Parish including the opening of the Plantation View Medical Offices, providing expanded access to Primary Care, Urology, Family Medicine, Pediatrics and Women’s Services, as well as an outpatient Pharmacy.
