Twenty-eight Ochsner Nurses Named Among 2015 “Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana”

NEW ORLEANS – Each year, 100 nurses in Louisiana are recognized for exemplifying concern for humanity, contributions to the nursing profession and mentoring others. Ochsner Health System is proud to announce that 28 Ochsner Registered Nurses were named among the 2015 “Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana.”

The Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana Foundation was founded in 1986 as a way to recognize outstanding nurses and their accomplishments and successes. The honorees are selected by their peers and patients, based on their achievements in four areas: Clinical / Community, Administration, Research and Education.

"Nursing is such a generous and noble profession and we are proud of the many contributions made by Ochsner nurses every day,” said Tracey Moffatt, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Vice President of Quality for Ochsner Health System. “Once again this year Ochsner is honored to see so many of our nurses represented in this prestigious group and we congratulate you!"

Ochsner nursing staff has a history of acknowledgments by the Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana Foundation for their commitment to patient care, including recognition of 222 nurses over the past seven years.

The Great 100 Nurses were honored at a celebration on October 14 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner. For more information, please visit http://www.g100nurses.org/.
