AfterKatrina, an Ochsner employee appended a message to an "Employer of Choice" poster to reflect the spirit of togetherness that permeated Ochsner in the wake of Katrina: My Employer, My Choice, My Family.

Donations from across the nation

Ochsner received many donations from hospitals and churches around the country. Ochmart was created as a place where employees could come "shop" for whatever they needed, from toothpaste and underwear to full outfits, towels and blankets.

Ochsner Open for Business

Ochsner Health System, then a single hospital, was one of only three hospitals to remain fully operational during and post-Katrina.
