SHREVEPORT, La. — Ochsner LSU Health welcomes oral and maxillofacial surgeon Abdulrahman Hesham, DDS, MS to its team. Dr. Hesham is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and specializes in advanced surgeries of the mouth, face and jaw.
Dr. Hesham is skilled in surgical treatments of serious head and neck cancers, using advanced techniques like rebuilding tissues with microvascular free flaps and virtual surgical planning to get the best cancer treatment and body function results.
Dr. Hesham earned his dental degree from King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia and a master’s degree in dentistry from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He furthered his education completing residencies in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Texas Health and Sciences Center in San Antonio, Texas, and at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He also completed a fellowship in head and neck oncologic surgery and microvascular reconstruction at LSU Health Shreveport.
In addition to treating patients, Dr. Hesham is known for his research and serves as an assistant professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at LSU Health Shreveport. He has published articles on new treatments and surgical methods, especially for cancer patients. His work is helping to improve care for patients everywhere.
