SHREVEPORT, La. – Ochsner LSU Health is excited to welcome Shaheena Anene, M.D., a board-certified pediatrician to its Internal Medicine and Pediatrics clinic, located in the Provenance neighborhood. Dr. Anene brings a wealth of experience and a steadfast dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care for children across the region.
With a strong focus on supporting families with newborns, Dr. Anene finds great joy in empowering parents with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their child’s care. She is especially passionate about caring for children with developmental delays and special needs, advocating for healthier food options, education opportunities and mental health resources in addition to their needed medical treatments.
Dr. Anene earned a Master of Medical Science degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas, and a medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Her connection to Shreveport began during her pediatrics residency at LSU Health Shreveport, where she fell in love with the community and decided to make northwest Louisiana her home.
Dr. Anene is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been practicing pediatrics in the community for two years.
