Louisiana Department of Health Secretary Bruce Greenstein visits Ochsner Health Center – Bertrand in Lafayette on his statewide tour

LAFAYETTE, La. – As part of his statewide tour, Louisiana Department of Health Secretary Bruce Greenstein met with healthcare and academic leaders, as well as local and statewide elected officials, on Friday, April 24. During a visit to Ochsner Health Center – Bertrand, he learned more about the region’s graduate medical education programs and the expansion of services at Ochsner University Hospital & Clinics for Acadiana’s most vulnerable families. 

“We were honored to host Secretary Greenstein, along with local and statewide elected officials and academic leaders,” said Ochsner Lafayette General AVP Academics and Public Affairs Karen Wyble. “Their support helps us continue expanding access to care, training the next generation of healthcare professionals and meeting the evolving needs of patients across Acadiana.”  

“Traveling across the state allows us to see what’s working at the local level,” said Secretary Greenstein. “The Ochsner Health Center – Bertrand is a model for what community-based health care should look like – high-quality, accessible, and built around patients. This is the direction we want to continue moving in Louisiana, and it’s how we build a strong, sustainable system that attracts and keeps talent here at home.”
