Moody’s Affirms ‘A3’ Credit Rating with a stable outlook for Ochsner Health

NEW ORLEANS – Moody’s Investors Service affirmed its A3 credit rating with a stable outlook for Ochsner Clinic Foundation (Ochsner Health) today. Moody’s issued a report on Friday, June 9 that reflected confidence in Ochsner’s finances, stability and leadership.

According to Moody’s report, some of the key factors that led to the favorable outlook included:

  • Strong brand recognition and role as large quaternary and tertiary service provider - Ochsner remains the destination for exceptional primary and specialty care across the Gulf South, encouraging continued volume growth.
  • Large geographic footprint and leading market position – Ochsner’s footprint and leading position in its Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama markets provide strong and diverse revenue streams.
  • Well-honed clinical model and strong digital platform – Ochsner is well positioned to meet the communities it serves through an extensive clinical network and growing portfolio of digital offerings.
  • Extensive financial improvement plans – Led by a strong and disciplined management team, Ochsner’s significant efforts to improve financial performance will support continued progress toward historical levels of operating performance.
