Ochsner Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital recognized among nation’s top performers for patient satisfaction

KAPLAN, La. - Ochsner Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital has been recognized as a 2026 Best Practice Recipient for Patient Satisfaction by The Chartis Center for Rural Health and the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). The designation places the hospital among 20 critical access hospitals nationwide honored for excellence in patient experience.

The recognition is based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, which evaluates hospitals across multiple areas, including quality, outcomes and patient experience.

A Best Practice designation in patient satisfaction is based on performance across all 10 Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) domains. Ochsner Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital recognition for its performance in patient satisfaction highlights the team’s commitment to delivering positive and compassionate patient experiences.

“We are incredibly proud of our physicians and staff who work every day to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our community,” said Jennifer Gerard, hospital administrator and assistant vice president of nursing at Ochsner Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. “This recognition reflects our commitment to putting patients at the center of everything we do.”

“NRHA is committed to ensuring our members have the best information to manage their hospitals,” says Brock Slabach, NRHA chief operations officer. “We’re pleased to recognize the accomplishments of these rural hospitals.”
