NEW ORLEANS - For parents, confidence in their child’s healthcare matters. From routine annual check-ups to complex medical diagnoses, families want access to trusted, high-quality care close to home.
Ochsner Children’s has earned national recognition for pediatric healthcare for the 10th consecutive year, reflecting its sustained, long-standing commitment to advanced, patient- and family-centered care across Louisiana and the Gulf South. The latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek recognize seven pediatric specialties among the nation’s top 50 across the two influential publications.
This year, Ochsner Children’s earned three U.S. News Top 50 pediatric specialty rankings: pediatric cardiology and heart surgery, pediatric gastroenterology and GI surgery, and pediatric orthopedics. Its cardiology and heart surgery program ranked among the top 30 nationally. The expert teams behind these nationally recognized specialties care for children with some of the most complex medical needs, including congenital heart defects, digestive disorders, and musculoskeletal conditions and injuries that require specialized pediatric expertise.
This year’s U.S. News recognition adds to Ochsner Children’s growing national profile. In Newsweek’s latest America’s Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, four Ochsner Children’s programs were named among the nation’s top 50: cardiology and heart surgery, neonatology, endocrinology and pulmonary medicine. Ochsner Children’s has maintained at least one nationally ranked pediatric specialty for 10 consecutive years, with multiple programs recognized for several years.
Beyond the rankings themselves, the recognition highlights the continued advancement of pediatric healthcare in Louisiana. Families now have greater access to nationally recognized expertise across a growing number of specialties. That means more children can receive highly specialized care close to home, giving families more options and reducing the need to travel long distances for treatment.
“As we celebrate this recognition, our focus remains on the children and families we serve,” said Vincent “Butch” Adolph, MD, chief medical officer, Ochsner Children’s. “These rankings reflect the amazing work being done every day to ensure that children across Louisiana have access to exceptional care when they need it most.”
For decades, Ochsner Children’s has expanded its pediatric programs while advancing its mission to provide expert care for families across Louisiana, Mississippi and the Gulf South. Learn more about Ochsner Children’s by visiting Ochsner Children's Hospital.
