Ochsner Health joins Johnson & Johnson, The Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club for Men’s Health Event

NEW ORLEANS – Ochsner Health will host the fourth annual Men’s Health Event from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club headquarters at 732 N. Broad St. This event is open to the public at no cost.

Presented by Ochsner and Johnson & Johnson, along with community partner The Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club, the Men’s Health Event advances a core mission to improve healthcare access and health outcomes.

“Zulu is pleased to again be a partner with Ochsner Health to benefit men from all walks of life. Access to healthcare for families and especially the men of the family is a priority of our organization,” said Elroy A. James, President of Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club. “The hope is that our community will take advantage of this important and comprehensive health opportunity." 

Ochsner is also pleased to collaborate with Becton, Dickinson & Company to provide leg and arm blockage screenings, and other medical checks:

  • Peripheral artery disease
  • Blood pressure
  • Glucose
  • Cholesterol
  • Lung capacity

The Men’s Health Event includes a panel discussion on mental health that includes Dr. Laborde, Ariana Mitchell, PhD, Ochsner Health clinical psychologist, and Brian Turner, psychology department head at Xavier University of Louisiana.
