High-quality maternity care, provided from pregnancy through birth and postpartum, is key to the long-term health of newborns and women who give birth. Given that maternity care is a major component of healthcare, Newsweek and Statista, a leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, have partnered to identify America’s Best Maternity Hospitals in 2026.
Hospital quality metrics: with a focus on indicators relevant to maternity care.
Patient experience: from public hospital survey data.
Reputation score: Healthcare professionals and hospital managers with knowledge about maternity processes e.g., neonatal and perinatal physicians, nurses and midwives were asked to recommend leading maternity hospitals in the U.S.
"This recognition is a reflection of the dedication and clinical expertise our teams bring to our patients every day," said Joseph Biggio, MD, system chair and service line leader of women’s services at Ochsner. "While the award is a significant honor, the true reward is the high-quality, compassionate care our providers and staff deliver to families across our communities. It is their commitment to excellence that makes Ochsner a leader in maternal health."
