LAFAYETTE, La. Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center was named one of Forbes Top Hospitals 2026, the publication’s first national assessment of hospital performance. This recognition highlights hospitals that demonstrate strong performance across quality outcomes, patient experience, value and best practices. 

Forbes’s national assessment of hospital performance 

The Forbes Top Hospitals 2026 list was created to help individuals and families navigate the healthcare system and identify high-performing hospitals. The rating system was produced alongside healthcare measurement experts and is built on validated data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Provider Data Catalog. 

 
Forbes Top Hospitals evaluation criteria 

  • 2,500 general acute care hospitals met initial criteria for consideration 

  • 762 hospitals nationwide were named to the final list 

  • 56 performance measures were used to evaluate quality, outcomes, value and patient experience 

This recognition places Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center among hospitals nationwide that consistently meet high standards across multiple dimensions of care.
