Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center names Amanda Logue, MD, new chief executive officer

LAFAYETTE, La. – Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center (OLGMC) has named Amanda Logue, MD, MMM, FACP, as the new chief executive officer, effective Sept. 6. 

Dr. Logue has served as regional medical director for Ochsner Lafayette General since 2019. She has helped lead efforts to enhance quality, expand access to care and strengthen the patient experience across the region. She has worked closely with physicians, hospitals and community partners to strengthen care for patients and families, recruit and retain physicians, and support the growth of healthcare services throughout Acadiana. She has also served as the Designated Institutional Official for OLGMC Graduate Medical Education, helping guide the continued growth and development of our residency programs.

In her new role, Dr. Logue will oversee Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Hospital, Ochsner Lafayette General Surgical Hospital, the regional pharmacy and regional facilities teams. She will lead the organization’s continued focus on delivering exceptional patient care, supporting physicians and team members, advancing innovation and expanding access to healthcare services throughout the region.

Patrick Gandy, Jr. continues to lead Ochsner Lafayette General as the regional chief executive officer.

Dr. Logue brings extensive experience in clinical care, physician leadership, healthcare operations and clinical technology. Before assuming her current position, she served as chief medical information officer for Lafayette General Health, now Ochsner Lafayette General. Her previous leadership roles also include chief information officer and chair of the IT and Data Sharing Committee for the Acadiana Health Care Alliance and chair of medicine and medical director of the hospitalist department at Lafayette General Medical Center. 

Dr. Logue has practiced medicine for 17 years and remains actively involved in patient care, continuing to serve as a hospitalist. She is board certified in internal medicine and clinical informatics and brings a unique perspective shaped by experience in patient care, quality, operations and healthcare technology.

Dr. Logue earned her medical degree from LSU Health Shreveport. She completed her internal medicine internship, residency and chief residency at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center and earned a Bachelor of Science in microbiology with a minor in chemistry from Louisiana State University. Most recently, she completed a Master of Medical Management at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College. 

Dr. Logue's leadership extends beyond Ochsner Lafayette General and includes service with the Louisiana Hospital Association (LHA) and other organizations across the state. She has served on the LHA Trust Funds Board and the LHA Physician Leadership Council Steering Committee and has contributed to regional committees focused on research, population health, quality and clinical documentation improvement. Her career honors include the United Way Women Who Mean Business Award, the Ochsner Physician Leader Award, the Cerner Physician All Star Award and teaching honors during residency.
