LAFAYETTE, La.— Ochsner Lafayette General welcomes five physicians who bring expertise in infectious diseases, orthopedics, psychiatry, general surgery, pediatrics and pediatric neurosurgery. These physicians help to meet the growing healthcare needs of the region while offering patients access to comprehensive, high-quality care close to home.
Lana Y. Abusalem, MD, is an infectious diseases specialist practicing at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, 1214 Coolidge St. in Lafayette. She cares for adults with a broad range of infectious conditions, including bloodstream infections, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, respiratory infections and travel-related illnesses. Her expertise also includes safe and appropriate use of antibiotics, multidrug-resistant organisms and care for immunocompromised and transplant patients. Dr. Abusalem earned her medical degree from the University of Jordan, completed her residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed fellowship training at Duke University Medical Center.
Nicola S. Corbett, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon practicing at Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Center, 4212 W Congress St, Suite 3100 in Lafayette. She specializes in foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine and treating conditions like fractures, sprains, deformities and sports-related injuries. Dr. Corbett earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Then completed a residency in orthopedic surgery and a fellowship in foot and ankle treatment at Tulane University Medical Center.
Todd Pullin, MD is a pediatrician practicing at Ochsner Health Center – Eunice, 3256 U.S. Highway 190,Eunice, LA 70535. He provides comprehensive care for children from birth through adolescence, including childhood growth and development, respiratory illnesses, musculoskeletal injuries, ADHD and preventive care. Dr. Pullin earned his medical degree from LSU Health New Orleansand served as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy before completing his pediatric residency at the Medical College of Georgia.
Jeffrey Sibrack, MD, is a psychiatrist practicing at Ochsner Lafayette General Community Health Center, 1317 Jefferson St. in Lafayette, specializing in treating mental and behavioral health conditions. Dr. Sibrack brings extensive experience in outpatient psychiatry, addiction medicine, inpatient psychiatry, military veterans’ mental healthcare and primary care collaboration. He earned his medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and completed combined training in internal medicine and psychiatry at Tulane University.
Jerome M. Volk III, MD, is a pediatric neurosurgeon who sees patients at Ochsner Health Center for Children – Lafayette, 1016 Coolidge St. in Lafayette.[HL15] He provides advanced care for children with complex neurological conditions, including brain tumors, craniosynostosis, spina bifida and traumatic brain injuries. His expertise includes minimally invasive cranial and spinal procedures. Dr. Volk earned his medical degree from LSU Health New Orleans and completed fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. [CG16]
