SHREVEPORT, La. – Ochsner LSU Health welcomes Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Jason Pou, MD, who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck. He is committed to providing high quality care to patients by offering a personalized approach. He is renowned for his natural surgical results and non-surgical solutions to help patients reach their goals.
Dr. Pou is double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He earned his medical degree from LSU Health Shreveport and completed his Otolaryngology residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, La.
Furthering his education, Dr. Pou completed two fellowships in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. The first was with a top plastic surgeon at Emory University School of Medicine and Premier Image and Cosmetic and Laser Surgery in Atlanta, Ga. He completed a second fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C., focusing on reconstructive surgery, craniofacial surgery and facial reanimation.
Prior to joining Ochsner LSU Health, Dr. Pou spent five years in practice, performing a large volume of cosmetic rhinoplasties, facelifts, browlifts and blepharoplasties as well as reconstructive surgeries and facial reanimation procedures. He spent three years as a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Ochsner Health Center in New Orleans, La. and two years at Robertson Cosmetic Center in Madison, Wis.
Dr. Pou is a Shreveport native who is excited to move back home to North Louisiana and see patients at the new Ochsner LSU Health - Dermatology and Facial Plastic sclinic on Fern Ave. He is an Assistant Professor of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at LSU Health Shreveport and is involved in clinical research and publications in his field.
Dr. Pou’s comprehensive training background and years of academic and private practice allow him to offer a wide breadth of services. At Ochsner LSU Health he will perform functional and cosmetic rhinoplasties and a variety of cosmetic procedures including facelifts, browlifts, blepharoplasties, otoplasties, and chin augmentations. He is also passionate about treating patients with facial paralysis and synkinesis. He treats facial trauma and performs many reconstructive surgeries following skin cancer removal.
