Ochsner LSU Health Welcomes Four New Specialists to Enhance Care in Shreveport-Bossier

SHREVEPORT, La. – Ochsner LSU Health is proud to welcome four new physicians to its team, expanding access to care in Shreveport-Bossier and the surrounding communities.   

 

Tahir Ahmad, MD joins as radiologist and will see patients at Ochsner LSU Health – Academic Medical Center. Dr. Ahmad earned his medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas in Nevis and completed his residency in radiology and diagnostic radiology at LSU Health Shreveport.

Sidra Bashir, MD joins as neonatologist and will see patients at Ochsner LSU Health – St. Mary Medical Center. Dr. Bashir earned her medical degree from Nishtar Medical College & Hospital in Multan, Pakistan, and completed her residency in pediatrics and fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Vincent Klapper, MD joins as a hospitalist and will see patients at Ochsner LSU Health – Academic Medical Center. Dr. Klapper earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, and completed his residency in internal medicine at LSU Health Shreveport.

Rahul Shah, MD joins as a specialist in vascular neurology and will see patients at Ochsner LSU Health – Neurology Center. Dr. Shah earned his medical degree from K.J. Somaiya Medical College and completed a neurology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Shah completed fellowships in neurology and vascular neurology at LSU Health Shreveport and in neuro critical care at UTHealth McGovern Medical School in Houston. 

 

Dr. Shah is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in neurology, vascular neurology, and neuro critical care. He is the director of the newly established Neurovascular ICU, which is the only dedicated neurocritical care unit in the region.

 These physicians join the Ochsner LSU Health Physician Group, which consists of more than 1,200 physicians and advanced practice providers in over 75 specialties and subspecialties. They will also serve in a teaching capacity as members of the LSU Health Shreveport faculty.
