Ochsner Novant Health 65 Plus - Okatie welcomes new physician
RIDGELAND, SC – Ochsner Novant Health 65 Plus welcomes Peggy Bourguillon, MD, a board-certified family physician, to Ochsner Novant Health 65 Plus – Okatie, Ridgeland. Dr. Bourguillon has treated patients in South Carolina since 2018, serving the Little River, Murrells Inlet and Myrtle Beach communities. She joined Ochsner Novant Health 65 Plus in August.
Ochsner Novant Health 65 Plus is a comprehensive program designed to meet the unique health needs of people 65 and older, offering customized healthcare, social support and wellness resources to care for the whole person. Clinic offerings extend beyond traditional medical services to include social and wellness opportunities matched to patients’ interests and lifestyles, such as group fitness classes, enlightening cooking demonstrations, health coaching, therapeutic card games, crafting sessions and more.

Originally from the northeast, Dr. Bourguillon pursued a biology degree at Fairfield University before earning her master's in biomedical science from Quinnipiac University. Her career trajectory shifted when she transitioned from pharmaceutical research to medical school, where she became a Medical Doctor at New York Medical College. Later, she moved to the Lowcountry and served as the Family Medicine Chief Resident during her residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
She is an active member of the South Carolina Medical Association Ethics Committee and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
