BATON ROUGE, La. – Ochsner Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute at Elite Training Complex – Burbank will provide sports physicals at no cost to middle and high school student athletes from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at 5444 Burbank Drive.
The event is open to all student athletes in grades 6 through 12, regardless of school affiliation, at no cost. To take part, students should register at Ochsner.org/BRortho.
Students are required to complete and bring the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s pre-participation medical evaluation. A link to the evaluation form is available on the event registration website, and students under the age of 18 must have the form signed by a parent or guardian.

The physicals are valid for 13 months, ensuring coverage for the full school year.
“We know how important sports are in the lives of young athletes and that a required physical shouldn’t be a barrier to participation,” said Jeremy Burnham, MD, director of sports medicine services for Ochsner Baton Rouge. “By offering physicals at no cost, we help ensure students can safely do what they love with support from a team trained to keep them in the game.”
In addition to receiving their physicals, athletes and their families are invited to explore the Elite Training Academy’s indoor turf field and facilities. Ochsner performance coaches will be available to discuss athletic performance metrics and provide insights into summer training opportunities.
