The Family Care and Health event is a core mission of all three partners to improve healthcare access and healthy outcomes for Louisiana families.
“As a retired Ochsner physician and a member of this beloved north Baton Rouge church community, the hope is that our members and neighbors will take advantage of this important and comprehensive family health opportunity,” said George Howard, MD. “United Believers Church is pleased to partner with Ochsner Health to benefit the families of the community. Access to healthcare for our community is a priority for our church and its members.”
Southern will bring its Jag Mobile to the event as well. The mobile health unit provides nursing students with an opportunity to get firsthand experience working with patients directly in their community.
“Southern University is proud to join these committed institutions to identify health needs and engage the community to promote better health,” said Dr. Sandra C. Brown, dean of Southern’s College of Nursing and Allied Health. “We are thrilled to offer the Jag Mobile at the expo and share our student nurses for this important community health event. Working together, we will help build a healthier Louisiana.
