Ochsner St. Martin Hospital breaks ground on new Specialty Clinic in Breaux Bridge
New clinic will house specialties from Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Doctors (LGMD)
Breaux Bridge, La. – Ochsner St. Martin Hospital is excited to announce the groundbreaking of its new Specialty Clinic that took place on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 10 a.m. Slated to open in September 2025, the 6,200 square-foot Specialty Clinic will be located on the Ochsner St. Martin Hospital campus at 210 Champagne Blvd. in Breaux Bridge and will expand access to healthcare for the Breaux Bridge community and St. Martin Parish by offering a range of specialized medical services. The new clinic will house specialties from Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Doctors (LGMD), including orthopedics and general surgery, offering state-of-the-art care to patients and will feature nine exam rooms, one treatment room, and an X-ray room, providing convenient access to diagnostics and advanced healthcare.
Funding for the project includes a $3 million contribution from Hospital Service District #2, with Ochsner Lafayette General contributing an additional $1 million to support furnishings, essential equipment, technology systems, and security enhancements.
“We are committed to making high-quality healthcare accessible to all residents of St. Martin Parish,” said Burton Dupuis, President of Hospital Service District #2. “This new specialty clinic will be a valuable resource for our community, and we are proud to support its development.”
The groundbreaking follows Ochsner St. Martin Hospital's completion of a major expansion in 2021, which added a new surgery and catheterization lab suite, 25 new patient rooms, a new open-air MRI machine and enhanced inpatient and outpatient services. The new Specialty Clinic is a continuation of Ochsner St. Martin Hospital's mission to expand and improve care for Breaux Bridge and the surrounding region.
