NEW ORLEANS –Ochsner Health(Ochsner) has announced the opening of Ochsner Health Center – Mid-City at Canal with women’s services now available. An Ochsner Urgent Care, which opened on Monday, February 5, co-occupies the space on Canal and S. Carrolton, giving residents of Mid-City a convenient option for non-emergency illness or injury. Dermatology services will also be added to the specialty health center in March.
“We are proud to continue expanding Ochsner’s women’s services across New Orleans, the state and the Gulf South region, offering quality and convenient care for women,” said Lisa Pellerin, Vice President Women’s Services, Ochsner Health System. “Our goal is to make our patients feel comfortable, confident and assured that they are in the best care during times when they need it the most.”
The Mid-City facility will offer an array of OB/GYN services including UTI care, STD testing and annual exams. Expectant mothers can also receive care for pregnancy symptoms including nausea, vaginal spotting and contractions.
The new facility will be fully integrated with Ochsner’s electronic medical record, the industry-leading Epic software, greatly expanding coordination of patient care across the entire Ochsner Health System. Epic allows patient information to be securely accessed by all Ochsner providers, meaning that, no matter which Ochsner facility a patient chooses to visit, the medical staff at that facility will have full access to the patient’s medical record, ensuring the highest quality of care.
Patients at the new facility and all patients throughout Ochsner Health also have access to MyOchsner, a secure online tool that allows patients to communicate with physicians, schedule online appointments, view lab and imaging results, prescription refills and more.
