Louisiana Department of Education and Ochsner Health Launch Virtual Therapy Program for Educators and Support Staff

Virtual therapy visits are a convenient option for a variety of appointments, including addressing pandemic-related stress or other behavioral health issues such as grief and loss counseling, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders and insomnia. The virtual therapy program for Louisiana educators will cover four virtual therapy visits for Louisiana public school teachers and support staff at all K-12 school systems and early child care centers that serve children from birth to age four.

Ochsner Hospital for Children Opens Multi-Disciplinary Autism Clinic at the Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development

Housed within the Boh Center (located at 1319 Jefferson Highway and adjacent to Ochsner Health Center for Children) the new multi-disciplinary Autism Clinic is designed to assess children ages two through four years old for suspected Autism spectrum disorder. The multi-disciplinary team, which consists of a medical developmental specialist, a psychologist, a speech pathologist and a social worker, works together to complete a comprehensive evaluation and if a diagnosis is made, develops a personalized treatment plan for each patient.

Local supermarket chain Winn-Dixie continues its steadfast commitment to community, raising $35,234.65 during its Mardi Gras to Geaux campaign to support Ochsner Hospital for Children. During the three-week campaign, customers at all Louisiana Winn-Dixie locations were able to round up their total sale to the nearest dollar to benefit Ochsner pediatric patients and programs.
