The new teleICU program provides patients in Monroe with access to critical care specialists at the Academic Medical Center in Shreveport. In the program, multidisciplinary rounds take place with the bedside team to develop a comprehensive plan for the patient each day. The Tele increasing the likelihood for Monroe’s patients to remain local for their medical care. Other benefits include a reduction in response time for patient care decisions and shortening the length of the hospital stay.
In partnership with the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA), Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport hosted a Butterfly Release, Tuesday April 16 honoring organ donors and their families. The event is one of many that LOPA and Donate Life Louisiana are hosting around the state during April, National DonateLife Month, to raise awareness about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation and to celebrate those that have saved lives through the gift of donation.
