Welcome Dr. Daniel Sutton: Expert orthopedic surgeon joins Ochsner Rush Health

MERIDIAN, Miss. – Ochsner Rush Health is excited to welcome Daniel Sutton, MD, a board–certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon to their Ochsner Andrews Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute. Dr. Sutton brings a wealth of experience and a steadfast dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care for patients across the region. He specializes in sports medicine, shoulder and knee surgeries, including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, cartilage preservation and meniscus tear repair. 

The Ochsner Andrews Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Meridian provides the latest in injury prevention and treatment techniques, shaped by Ochsner’s partnership with world-renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. Through the Ochsner Andrews Sports Medicine Institute, Dr. Andrews consults with Ochsner physicians and sports medicine teams to provide guidance on programs and share clinical best practices, participate in educational, research and professional development initiatives and lead advocacy efforts to prevent youth sports injuries. The Ochsner Rush Health team of primary care sports medicine physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists and orthopedic surgeons work together to provide individualized care to each patient. 

Dr. Daniel Sutton earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn. and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Sutton is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. 

Dr. Sutton comes to Meridian from Rochester Regional Health in Batavia, N.Y. where he saw patients for the last year. He spent three years as Northern State University’s team physician while practicing for Sanford Hospital in Aberdeen, S.D.
