Women's heart screening event hosted by Ochsner Health

NEW ORLEANSOchsner Health will host a women's heart screening event on Saturday, March 7, from 9 - 11 a.m. at Ochsner Health Center – Algiers, 3401 Behrman Place, New Orleans, LA 70114. The event is designed to provide critical heart health screenings at no cost to women ages 18-65, with a focus on the early detection of asymptomatic valvular heart disease.

What is asymptomatic valvular heart disease?

When one or more heart valves fail to open or close properly, it may signal heart valve disease. In its asymptomatic stage, the condition progresses silently, often without noticeable symptoms, but can lead to serious complications like heart failure, arrhythmias, or other cardiovascular issues. Early diagnosis is key as it enables timely, minimally invasive interventions that can slow disease progression and significantly enhance quality of life.
