NEW ORLEANS – Ochsner Health will host a women's heart screening event on Saturday, March 7, from 9 - 11 a.m. at Ochsner Health Center – Algiers, 3401 Behrman Place, New Orleans, LA 70114. The event is designed to provide critical heart health screenings at no cost to women ages 18-65, with a focus on the early detection of asymptomatic valvular heart disease.
When one or more heart valves fail to open or close properly, it may signal heart valve disease. In its asymptomatic stage, the condition progresses silently, often without noticeable symptoms, but can lead to serious complications like heart failure, arrhythmias, or other cardiovascular issues. Early diagnosis is key as it enables timely, minimally invasive interventions that can slow disease progression and significantly enhance quality of life.
The event is designed to provide critical heart health screenings to women ages 18-65, focusing on the early detection of asymptomatic valvular heart disease.

"Heart health is the foundation of overall wellness, and early detection is key to preventing serious complications,” said Dominique Williams, MD, medical director for women's cardiology at Ochsner Health. “These screenings empower women to take charge of their health by providing critical insights into conditions like valvular heart disease before symptoms escalate. Our goal at Ochsner is to support every woman in leading a strong, healthy life."
Ochsner continues to lead the Gulf South in cardiovascular care, combining clinical excellence with community-focused initiatives that address the unique health needs of its patients. This screening event is part of Ochsner's broader mission to inspire healthier lives and stronger communities through accessible, patient-centered care.
