It is so hidden inside Ochsner Medical Center, after being asked, many of the employees working in the same building said they never knew there was a hotel on the property and others mentioned that they had seen a few signs for the Brent House Hotel but didn't know anything else about it. As far as the locals, after a quick survey of customers at a popular eatery across the street from the hotel, 100% of them had no knowledge of the Brent House Hotel (and they were literally sitting at a diner across the street from it).
Lack of work-life balance, unpredictable schedules and being understaffed are key drivers of provider dissatisfaction and burnout, all of which were exacerbated during the pandemic. By revamping its scheduling system, New Orleans-headquartered Ochsner Health has improved its anesthesia management program, resulting in increased provider satisfaction and better patient care.

VIEW THIS ARTICLE ON WGNOAccording to Ochsner Health, Ochsner is part of a network of institutions that received $7 million from NIA/NIH to study the Care Ecosystem dementia care model program, which is a 12-month program meant to give individualized support. The model was developed at the University of California. The participants received a plan based on the patient and caregiver’s needs. To qualify for the trial, patients had to be diagnosed with dementia, have an identified caregiver, and have visited the ED or stayed inpatient in the hospital within the last 12 months.
