According to Ochsner Baton Rouge, the STaR Trial Network consists of 25 military and academic medical centers and over 50 of the best knee surgeons in the U.S. and Canada.
The medical director of Ochsner Baton Rouge’s sports medicine program says these types of knee injuries require extremely specialized care and training, comparing surgery necessary to transplant surgery.

Designed to make children feel at ease and calm in a hospital environment, the room is sea-themed and features colorful aquatic graphics, search and find activities and a child-sized exam table. The colors used in the room were chosen with the intention to create a soothing and peaceful environment for when pediatric patients are brought to the ED for medical attention.
The hospital held a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 29 to officially open the room. The equipment and design were made possible by the generosity of the United Way of St. Charles.

The Jennings hospital signed a letter of intent in 2019 to explore joining Lafayette General Health, which is now known as Ochsner Lafayette General. The Jennings hospital became part of the Ochsner Lafayette General region and will operate under a long-term lease agreement. The Jennings leadership team will continue to manage the day-to-day operations.

The announcement comes after the hospital first signed a letter of intent in 2019 to explore a merger with Lafayette General Health before that group merged with Ochsner. As per the merger, OALH will be part of the OLG region and operate under a long-term lease agreement that includes the hospital, medical office building and affiliated facilities.

Ochsner Digital Medicine employees recently put their words into action – literally – by raising more than $12,000 through pledges from generous donors and partners to run 10K and half marathon distances with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series New Orleans.
Members of the digital medicine team, who help patients manage their chronic conditions from home while staying connected to a dedicated care team, ran in the races on Feb. 5.
