Coronavirus Disease 2019 or COVID-19 is a new strand of coronavirus to infect humans. It was first detected in China and has now spread around the world, including the United States.
While the outbreak levels are still fairly low in the United States, information on COVID-19 is constantly changing.
On March 9, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards reported the first presumptive positive case of COVID-19 in Louisiana. Governor Edwards reported the first case is a Jefferson Parish resident who is hospitalized in Orleans Parish.
