Ochsner Health named to Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces

For the fourth consecutive year, Ochsner Health, the leading nonprofit healthcare provider in the Gulf South, has been named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group. Ochsner’s inclusion on this year’s list highlights the health system’s dedication to employee well-being, strong leadership, fair compensation and work-life balance.

“At Ochsner, we prioritize the health of our patients and the well-being and growth of our team members, who are the heart of our organization,” said Tracey Schiro, executive vice president and chief people and culture officer, Ochsner Health. “This honor from Newsweek reflects our commitment to an inclusive, supportive and dynamic workplace where team members can reach their full potential. When our people thrive, they deliver outstanding care to the patients and communities we serve.”

Newsweek’s ranking offers a rigorous evaluation of the hospitals and care networks that are actively prioritizing provider well-being and psychological safety,” said Jennifer H. Cunningham, Newsweek Editor-In-Chief. "Faced with severe post-pandemic staffing shortages and systemic burnout, the health care industry must fundamentally rethink how it supports its frontline workers. By honoring institutions that champion sustainable workloads and supportive leadership, we are defining the gold standard for workplaces where care providers can truly thrive."

America’s Greatest Workplaces 2026 recognizes the best employers in the United States based on their performance across 10 key dimensions of worker satisfaction. The comprehensive study combines a large-scale national survey, extensive desk research and third-party data to evaluate companies with more than 1,000 employees. The national survey was conducted between April 2025 and October 2025, gathering more than 2.7 million company reviews from more than 179,000 employees.

Additionally, results from three previous studies that took place between 2022 and 2024, encompassing more than 4.9 million company reviews and more than 400,000 interviews, have been incorporated into the overall findings with a reduced weight. This makes America’s Greatest Workplaces 2026 one of the largest independent employee studies in the nation.

Ochsner is consistently honored for its workplace culture and has received numerous workplace and culture awards, including the 2026 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Health Care, the USA TODAY Top Workplaces award, Top Workplaces for Nursing 2026 honor by Nurse.com, and has Gold-level recognition for Joy in Medicine® by the American Medical Association.
