Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Welcomes Internationally Renowned Orthopedic Surgeon James Andrews, MD with Community Forum Event at BHP YMCA

The community forum event will include Dr. James Andrews addressing the development of young athletes.

Shreveport, LA – Earlier this year, Ochsner Health announced an exclusive five-year partnership with internationally renowned orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist James Andrews, MD and the Andrews Institute to form The Ochsner Andrews Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Institute. To celebrate this rare partnership, one of only 20 entered, Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport is welcoming Dr. Andrews on Thursday, October 13 with a community event at the BHP Billiton YMCA located at 3455 Knight Street, Shreveport, La. 71105. The event is open to the public.

Hosted jointly with YMCA Northwest Louisiana, the event will take place at the BHP Billiton YMCA, 3455 Knight Street in Shreveport, La. The event is a continuation of their community lecture series with Dr. James Andrews addressing the development of young athletes. We ask that you submit questions for Dr. Andrews prior to the event. The partnership with the Andrews Institute will enhance Ochsner’s physical therapy and sports performance protocols and offerings and serve as a critical step forward in our vision to transform Louisiana into a healthier state by 2030.

A Louisiana native, Dr. Andrews received his medical degree from Louisiana State University and completed his orthopedic residency at Tulane Medical School. Over his career, Andrews has become internationally known and recognized for his skills as an orthopedic surgeon, performing procedures on several high-profile athletes including Drew Brees, Michael Jordan and Brett Favre.
