Remembering Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a day where we actively remember those Americans, including our ancestors, family members, loved ones and friends, who have paid the ultimate price for the blessings of liberty.

While often referred to as the unofficial start of summer, Memorial Day is about so much more than BBQ and pool parties. At its core, Memorial Day is a day to solemnly honor all men and women who have died in U.S. military service.

This past weekend, members of the VetForce 1 Ochsner Resource Group were joined by other staff for a ceremonial flag planting and a moment of silence to remember and honor the soldiers who died for our freedom.

Ochsner Resource Groups (ORGs) are voluntary, employee-led groups that focus on patient experience, community outreach, mentoring, recruitment and education. Each group is open to all Ochsner employees, no matter the identity. That includes VetForce 1, which is made up of both active military and those who support the armed forces.
